Spend a winter Saturday morning in Walthamstow creating magical poetry and prose with BBC Radio 4′s Saturday Live poet- in-residence, Aoife Mannix.
‘Just to say how much we enjoyed the workshop with the poet and novelist
Aoife Mannix at the Vestry Museum in Walthamstow last Saturday morning. We
loved the two main activities and the fact that the starting point to each
was an impromptu performance by Aoife of her own poetry. Our favourite was
the fancy dress party on Venus activity, and we all thoroughly enjoyed
having the chance to illustrate our writing afterwards. My daughters are 12
and 13 and it was so nice to get them off Facebook, and spend a few hours
doing something creative together. A truly inspiring morning! Rosanna
Greenstreet’
‘i loved the workshop that we did. It was very inspiring and it was really
cool to meet a writer other than mummy. I liked the poems Aoife wrote
because both of them were really different and it helped with my school work
because I used one of the quotes from one of her poems in an essay that I
had to write!’ From Charlotte
‘Hey, thanks for the workshop, it was really interesting and got us thinking about
things. It was very inspiring to meet Aoife as she is a very interesting
person. It was good to hear some of her work as well as it showed me what
you can achieve if you work hard.’ From Georgina
